Cool Vintage Gunlocke

Vintage sofa

I like finding old vintage furniture and I came across this sofa.  I have been looking for one for a while.  I am going to sell it but if I were to keep it I would probably have it redone and put it in the office.  My uncle has four chairs that he found in Kentucky a while ago and he had them redone in this cool leather and white welt cord, even the chrome he had done.   I probably would do something like that to this sofa if I keep it.

Crysta Bell

Older photo I shot a few months ago.  Sorry, I am behind in posting photos.  I shot this at the Continental Club Gallery in Austin.  She plays with a band on Monday nights up in the Gallery.  Its cool because its a small setting, cool vibe.  Its a darker lit place so shooting there is tuff but you can still get some good shots.  A lot times I have to shoot wide open and a ISO of around 1600 but I don’t mind.  The photos come out grainy and contrasty…which I like.  The band moves in and out of shadows.  Crysta is a great singer and she has a great stage presence.  She reminds me of a jazz singer from the 40’s.

Clayton from the band Dertybird.   This is a older photo I shot last year.  We didn’t use it for anything but I like it.  He was just hanging out being very patient with me and I just shot a quick picture.  I like it because you can see the black and white backdrops and the tables, everything pretty much your not supposed to see.  

David Jimenez

David Jimenez is in the studio with his band ( Baby Atlus) recording their album.  I am really looking forward to hearing what they are laying down.  Can’t wait for the CD.

100 Flowers album concept

This is a older photo that I shot for the band One Hundred Flowers album cover.  They came to me and wanted something industrial and not really having the band the main focal point. They ended going with a different concept.   It turned out pretty cool though.  Reminds me of maybe a  Joy Division album cover.

Centro-Matic @ The Parish

Here are a few pictures I shot of Centro-Matic.  I love these guys.  I have been listening to their music since I was in college.   The fact that they are still making great music and touring is really cool.  I check them out everytime they come into town.
